Sue Rowsell
Sue Rowsell is a Brisbane-based artist who has been painting and drawing since childhood. She works predominantly with oils with a focus on capturing elements of the natural world around her. Her botanical still life works explore strong composition, while using active brushwork and colour to bring a freshness and light to the painting.
After running her own Architectural practice for 20 years, Sue took a career break to pursue her interest in painting. She hasn’t looked back and has been painting full time ever since.
Sue’s subject matter predominantly focuses on still life and landscape painting. She composes floral arrangements to paint in her home studio, and simply invites the viewer to share the joy she finds in nature.
Sue’s work is evolving and she continues to learn the art of painting by attending workshops, programs and other opportunities as they arise.
