DARE TO DREAM is a new collection of works from our stable of artists. The works range from representative to imaginative, and inspire a sense of hope and betterment. Some artists have used the landscape to evoke freedom and openness whilst other artists have used symbolic images such as the rainbow to suggest new beginnings and good luck. Vibrant and voluminous florals as well as quirky still life that edge towards the unusual, afford the freedom of expression. The collection is a rich tapestry of works that unashamedly draws on our need to dare to dream.
You can contact Helen on 0419 870 305 to discuss any of the artworks.

My Coastal Exposure series explores the jagged coastal edge of our continent where the crust is exposed by the sea. My aim, as always, was to connect with the spiritual power of landscape. Locations are primarily on the coast of NSW, which contains some of the oldest known geological formations on earth.
Yunta Landscapes: The outback is in my bones, despite having lived all my life in a metropolis on the coast. We all belong to the landscape; we are all connected to it and influenced by it. In this series I attempt to express that connection in images – arguably the motivation, conscious or otherwise, of all artists in all ages and all places.

This painting is inspired by the rolling hills near my home and was commenced on location with en plein air charcoal sketches. The painting was completed in my studio during winter 2021 at a time when I was longing for warmer weather and the spaciousness of post lockdown life. The gentle summer palette reflects the hills glowing with light as the sun rises, a time of calm and reflection. Gates and tracks have become a familiar motif in my work, an invitation to enter and explore the unknown.

This work would hang beautifully alongside Hills of Wisdom, Sofala (II).

'The Adventurer' was inspired by the monolithic rocky cliffs that can be found along the coast of Australia …and those individuals who dared to dream of finding another land, across vast oceans, at the end of the world. I have combined realism and abstraction to convey a sense of adventure and curiosity.

Inspired by the collected but faded memories that emerge together to form a complete representation of being and experience. The lens of memory guides the navigation of the present and future. Although some memories are kinder than others, they are all treasure because they are yours and because they are you.

As the sun sets, the precious day that was lives on through the sprigs of collected wildflowers. Slowly the wildflowers fade, in time for memories to be buried and embedded in the heart. It was a beautiful day.
