MEGAN COCHRAN - Love Where We Live II
ÊTRE
Être represents the human experience of ‘being’ within one’s own timeline. Often unfathomable, the perception of time and how much time one has, has perplexed, motivated, and driven the human experience for centuries. To truly reflect on where one sits within their timeline can cause tangential shifts within the course of a life: regret leads to reconciliation, complacency leads to courage, perspective leads to vision. Place Making – Hastings Point This piece captures the feeling of place. The overlay of movements of wind and waves, the protrusion of headland meets an endless ocean: all working together with the ferocity, power and grace of their natural laws. Artist Bio Megan Cochran is an artist based in the sleepy coastal town of Pottsville, NSW, Australia. After practising in the field of architecture and design for over 10 years, Megan has returned to her true love of art. Though she has been painting since childhood, her architectural profession has lead her to develop a unique abstract style expressing complex themes and a comprehensive understanding of space within the art and the space the art inhabits. Cochran draws much inspiration from the pristine natural environment that this unique part of the world has to offer. Cochran’s style is fluid, textural and often portrays the dreamy and gentle rambling of nature through a neutral palette. Through the process of exploring the deep yet often overlooked themes of life and nature, Cochran’s art evokes a sense of wonder, curiosity and reflection. |
