Kathryn Cleland - Love Where We Live II
Meandering through fields of golden new growth decorated with snippets of colour and set against a hues of a developing storm, I found myself reminiscing about the days of red dirt and crops as far as the eye could see.
Uninterrupted greenery down to the ocean without the mass of roofs signalling developing seaside suburbs nor the giant cranes of a new hospital rising rapidly where sweet potato rows once thrived in rich soil.
When the beauty of the Tweed was still the best kept secret.
My fondness lies in the past yet my reality lies somewhere between developing suburbs and state of the art healthcare.
Without a resource to guide me and my mind wandering with visions past, my paintbrush became my guide as it swept across the canvas creating the image you see before you.
