Sammy-Ann

Sammy Ann is an Australian artist and creative. Her intuitive paintings are a unique take on traditional seascapes. They blend together her own artistic imaginings with the endless beauty of the sea. In her larger pieces, she uses a fusion of soft layers and swirling, ethereal, marks to evoke depth within her work, drawing inspiration from the ocean currents, tide and the interplay of light on water. Her smaller pieces are a study of the ocean creatures that dwell beneath the waves. They are inspired by her time spent snorkeling, diving and paddle boarding on the water.

A keen painter since childhood, Sammy chose to study a Batchelor of Visual Arts at Monash University after high school.  This degree ignited a passion within her to explore her place in the world whilst also showcasing the beauty of our planet. However, her journey to becoming a full-time artist did not begin until Melbourne's first lockdown in 2020. Being at home with small children she would spend every day exploring her local beach. Once back home the children would nap and it was during these quiet moments, that she began to paint. Some days she would get to paint for hours, others only minutes. But day after day, the business began to grow. Fast forward today, Sammy is now a full-time artist who works out of her own studio space which is nestled in the artistic haven of Moorabbin, Victoria, Australia. 

BIO: 
I see myself as a day dreamer, mother, lover of the sun and surf, explorer, admirer, adventurist, artist and owner of permanently salty hair.  Living next to the beach is a great inspiration for all my works. The ocean is such massive part of my life. I fell in love with painting and the ways I can explore my place in the world whilst also showcasing the beauty of our oceans. My practice is continually evolving and changing, as I relish in the joy of discovering more and more aspects of myself, my creativity and my business to share with the world.

Working together can build a shared community and create new relationships between people who may not have met otherwise. This can surely strengthen our community and help those within our community feel they belong to something bigger than themselves.
The opportunity to express our thoughts, emotions and feelings within our own bodies and life experiences are all we wish to share with you.
For our wonderful local community to understand what we actually experience in what is usually a world that can be so difficult.

EYE SEE BY THE SEA

​ARTIST STATEMENT: 
Living in the breathtaking area of Kingscliff and its surrounds inspires me every day. The diversity of wildlife and nature on our wild and untamed beaches is truly remarkable. As a natural-born storyteller, I'm driven to share my daily visions through the medium of photography. My style is drawn to the use of natural light, highlighting the definitions of what I see. I hope to awaken the viewer to curves, shapes, contrasts, and textures that our eyes often overlook. Join me on this journey and discover the beauty that surrounds us every day. 

BIO: 
Meet Petra, a photographer who combines her love for travel and creativity to capture unique images. Originally from Germany, Petra migrated to Australia at a young age and has since explored many parts of the world. With a background in International Trade, Petra's career allowed her to travel extensively, which ignited her passion for photography. 12 years ago, Petra was given her first real camera, and since then, she has focused on using natural light to bring out the curves and contrasts of her subjects. Petra's genres vary from fine art photography to street photography, and she hopes her images invite you to see things that our eyes often overlook. Follow Petra's journey to see the world through her lens.

ABOVE THE CANOPY

I believe my work tells a story, that story explains my environment, my life, my surroundings – my timeline.
This body of work was inspired by a tree culling outside my studio window, all that was left was one spindly lone gum tree reaching up to the sky – the Above The Canopy series was born.
These paintings take their palette from the vibrant and intense colours of our Australian landscape – the vivid blues and greens of the oceans through to the deep reds and oranges of our deserts plus our changing seasons. The intense colour requires many layers of glazing with pure pigment which I believe can only be achieved with oil paint.
Above The Canopy maps a different world where there is a suspension in time and a quietness and peacefulness to find.

BIO:
Lucinda, originally from Sydney studied at the National Art School graduating with a degree in Fine Art in painting, drawing and sculpture, is based on the Gold Coast living on the rim of the Hinterland – the view from her studio window inspires her work which is filled with clouds and trees. 
Lucinda is a landscape artist working primarily in oils, enjoying the beauty that this medium offers.
Lucinda’s creative process can be sparked by a memory, a piece of poetry or simply a fleeting image. Her art is an expression and interpretation that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also draws out strong emotions as the viewer discovers new connections and layers in the painting.
