Peter Berner is a stand up comic, cartoonist, writer, artist…and he has been a TV host, radio host, petrol station attendant and auctioneer.
He graduated from NAS in 1995. He has been a finalist in a number of art prizes including twice in the Archibald, Muswellbrook, Caloundra…the National Still life prize, Adelaide Perry drawing prize and Lester Prize. Also, he’s been nominated for a Logie twice.
The two portraits continue my work in character. I have spent many hours using many mediums drawing manipulating abstracting faces. They fascinate me in the way landscape does for landscape painters. I would argue they are, in their own way, my landscapes…
